A “bad” character

I don’t mean “bad” as in poorly written. I mean “bad”, as in shady, untrustworthy, someone to avoid, dangerous. When you aren’t dealing with heroes and villains, how do you deal with “bad guys” or girls?

I find as a reader that I am intrigued by the characters that I would avoid at all costs in reality. I find as a writer that I like spending time developing these characters.

About melindamcguirewrites

The young man or woman writing today has forgotten the problems of the human heart in conflict with itself which alone can make good writing because only that is worth writing about, worth the agony and the sweat. ------ William Faulkner, Nobel Prize Speech, Stockholm, 1950
