A new tool/toy – Wordle

Who knew about Wordle? I didn’t!

Thanks to Sarah Negovitch’s blog post Please Stop Using that Word, I’ve found a brand new toy    tool –  Wordle

Here’s how it works –

You load your document, and Wordle creates Word Cloud “art” to show you the most used words in your document.

Here’s the Wordle for Josephine: Red Dirt & Whiskey

Wordle: josephine red dirt and whiskey

This is going to be a great tool to help eliminate, or at least bring to my attention, frequently used words.

Plus, I like the way it looks 🙂

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Nelson and Cora – The Beginning launches in 14 days! You can see the cover here.

Only a few hours left to enter the giveaway on Goodreads for a signed copy of Josephine: Red Dirt and Whiskey.

About melindamcguirewrites

The young man or woman writing today has forgotten the problems of the human heart in conflict with itself which alone can make good writing because only that is worth writing about, worth the agony and the sweat. ------ William Faulkner, Nobel Prize Speech, Stockholm, 1950

A little odd but I’ll give it a go. Can you have a passive verb Wordle?

  2. DM says:

Wordle? How fun! I love the name. hey, I seem to check those words so often. Anything that can help is worth it.

  3. This is a neat toy, and I’m going to run my manuscript through it when I finish this rewrite. Thanks for passing on a “novel” idea!
