Grow a bigger box instead.

Put in new experiences, read different books, watch movies, attend plays, listen to live music, meet new people.

Put new information in and GROW.

This way you are staying true to yourself, true to your voice, but you’ve grown new ideas, new perspectives, new points of view.

I’m challenging all of you! Tell me what you’re doing that’s new for you 🙂

About melindamcguirewrites

The young man or woman writing today has forgotten the problems of the human heart in conflict with itself which alone can make good writing because only that is worth writing about, worth the agony and the sweat. ------ William Faulkner, Nobel Prize Speech, Stockholm, 1950

  3. This is so true! I have the tendency to suffer from tunnel-vision at times, and I’ve been making efforts to tune into what’s going around me. Though it feels like just one more thing to do right now, I know it will be beneficial in the long run.
