Who Influences My Writing (Besides Faulkner, of course)?

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to be a guest on Taryn Raye’s blog – Romance Writer – yesterday. She had some great questions for our interview, including which books I read over and over again.

Of course, most of Faulkner’s works are repeat reads for me, but so are Capote’s In Cold Blood, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, Mitchell’s Gone With the Wind, Steven Pressfield’s The War of Art, and Hugh MacLeod’s Ignore Everybody.

Click on over and read more of Taryn’s fun questions. I enjoyed the interview 🙂

About melindamcguirewrites

The young man or woman writing today has forgotten the problems of the human heart in conflict with itself which alone can make good writing because only that is worth writing about, worth the agony and the sweat. ------ William Faulkner, Nobel Prize Speech, Stockholm, 1950
