About melindamcguirewrites

The young man or woman writing today has forgotten the problems of the human heart in conflict with itself which alone can make good writing because only that is worth writing about, worth the agony and the sweat. ------ William Faulkner, Nobel Prize Speech, Stockholm, 1950

Hi Melinda, I’ve passed this along to a friend of mine who is an excellent poet and very creative in the art of all things fabric! I am also working on a project for you, a poem written about the last weekend with my mother. She explained my grandmother’s string quilt to me (very utilitarian). It reminded me of Alice Walker’s “Everyday Use.” I have the quilt and other handiworks of my grandmother, and wondered if there are specifications for photography for the anthology. I’d like to send a photo along with the poem. Apologies if I missed them, I’ve had surgery and have been a little out of it lately. Thanks for all your work and keeping the Southern voice alive. Kat

    • Hi Kat,
I am looking forward to reading your work and your friend’s as well 🙂
You can absolutely send photos. Black and white works best, but I can convert if needed. .jpg, .png will work.
